Beth and Chris added a new twist to the meaning of fun at their wedding which I photographed at the Historic Whitehall Manor. We started the day by exploring photographic locations.  They were such a willing couple that it was easy to take advantage of the beautiful and dynamic setting. Beth was quite the sport as she gathered up the layers of her bridal gown to maneuver over, around and through the obstacles of a 19th-century barn:  an unanticipated adventure perhaps but well worth the striking images. The ceremony which followed was a Christian service with the added personal touch of Chris’s serenade to Beth.  Post ceremony the bride and groom where presented Hawaiian leys and then participated in a traditional Chinese tea ceremony.  But the evening’s entertainment reached a new level with Chinese Lion dancers, a tradition symbolizing the bringing of good luck and prosperity in the years to come.  It was a phenomenal display of art and athleticism as the vibrant dragon seamlessly maneuvered through the tables and guests to the intense beating of live drums. I was touched by the speeches which revealed the depth of this couple’s relationship and recounted their 20 year-long romance with sincerity and a bit of humor.  Beth’s two sisters spoke of meeting Chris at ages six and nine, and they are now in their 20’s!  After many hours of eating, drinking, cake, and dancing we said goodbye to the newlyweds amidst sparklers. It was a pleasure to be a part of such a wonderful celebration and I wish nothing but the best for this fantastic couple. It was a great day to be a White Hall Manor Wedding Photographer in Bluemont, Virginia.
