Wedding Photography Alexandria – Talbert Wedding

I shot the wedding of Ashton and Scott at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Alexandria.  St. Paul’s is one of the oldest churches in the area and has a rich and colorful history.  After being taken over by the Union during the Cival War it was used as a hospital, much to the objection of the preacher, who was General Lee’s cousin.   The reception was held down the street at the Hotel Monaco, one of Alexandria’s finest hotels.  Guests mingled all evening in the outdoor courtyard when they were not rocking out in the ballroom.  A wonderful event.

Washington DC Wedding Photographer – Seiler Wedding

Caryn and Lee held their wedding at the Hotel Monaco in downtown Washington, D.C.  This classic old hotel has some interesting modern touches which convey a hip feel to the facility.  The couple participated in a Ketubah signing followed by a traditional wedding ceremony.  A Ketubah signing ceremony is a tradition in the Jewish faith which is a contract between the bride and groom.  It is an elegant and large piece of paper suitable for framing. Not an actual legal document, it is more of a promise to take care of each other. The reception was a joy-filled affair featuring one of my favorite wedding event, the Horah.  The Horah is a dance that can be practiced in slightly different forms but it has two main ingredients; The married couple always end up in chairs held up over the heads of family and friends,  and the crowd is always enthusiastic and fun.
