I had been looking forward to photographing Mary and Evan’s wedding at George Washington’s River Farm in Alexandria, Virginia. They make my job as a wedding photographer easy. Sharing an obvious playfulness and love for one another, they are a delight to photograph.
River Farm is a great spot for wedding photography as the grounds are basically one big garden overlooking the Potomac River. The couple decided to have a “First Look” moment on the back porch which enabled us to spend time before the ceremony creating portraits. My favorite part of being a Virginia Wedding Photographer is the chance to use my creativity with a beautiful bride. (However, I also enjoy making the groom look good too.)
The weather cooperated and we had the ceremony outside. This enables my team and me to explore unique angles and produce some artistic views. The low sun of a Fall wedding in Alexandria is always a challenge, but we used it to our advantage. The bride laughed and cried, so clearly it was a great ceremony.
River Farm has an unusual set up as they put a tent beside the building but use an indoor room as the dance floor. Dinner and speeches are in the tent and dancing is in the house. Mary and Evan love going to live shows and getting lost in the music. They certainly did that and more. They spent the evening with all of their friends enjoying the moment. Just a wonderful day to be a wedding photographer in Alexandria, Virginia.
